We sought to resolve the current limitations by innovating a durable, user friendly, and capable drone to be used in situations where human rescuers are incapable of searching or providing aid for those in eminent need. The latter would come equipped with:
Small amounts of aid to supply disaster areas.
Integration of the drone sensors to a computer or specified device to allow for confirmation of living beings.
Control system for operators, and camera output to the operator.
Functional Requirements
Lift its own weight at 50% thrust for an average period of 30 minutes within a range of 75 meters (246 ft)
Payload requirement maximum of 2kg
360p resolution 30 frames per second video transmission of wide angle camera
Low Frame Rate or HD options available
144p resolution 1-10 frames per second video/image transmission infrared camera
Durable framework/exoskeleton to withstand impact/collisions (carbon fiber)
Live stream video to a laptop application, allow for control using a standard game pad
Export data such as: Acceleration, Altitude, Signal Strength, and Battery Percentage
Concept Block Diagram
A concept block diagram is a specialized, high-level flowchart to communicate the interactions between systems and devices. It encompasses the hardware setup of the overall system. It allows for a more concise and visual way of understanding the overall concept of the system without the concern for the details of implementation.
