Project Statement
Modern drones are often prohibitively expensive for widespread use in Search and Rescue. Additionally, drones are too expensive and difficult to operate during a rescue in disaster events, leading them to serve little to no purpose.
The purpose of this project is to make a more economically accessible remote vehicle to aid and assist first responders in situations where a human would be unable to approach.
Project Objective
To create a full fledged remote operated drone that allows for user interface and visualization of the situation based on sensor data collected by the drone through various sensory circuits and cameras.
This project will have the ability to:
Provide aid to inaccessible areas
Bridge the capabilities of search and rescue teams and unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with live-feed video cameras and infrared cameras.
Enable persistent surveillance to out-of-reach areas for emergency service squads.
Create new pathways towards emergency response
Increase likelihood of survival in the event of a disaster
